另一方面，插入件可以人工取出，同时不需要使用特殊工具。VBS系列连接器的触点容易进行极化或定向，从而保证工作灵活性，由于VBS系列连接器采用一种新型膜圈设计，所以它可以适用较多类型的线缆，并且不需要使用密封式插头件。
VBS系列圆形连接器为4-way至74-way配置，所以它具有坚固的铝合金外壳（电镀于Ecogreen或Ecoblack上）。它的触点为铜合金材料，而绝缘固定环为热处理的Be-Cu材料，最后，它的垫圈及垫件由防火型橡胶材料制造而成，而绝缘插入件则为热塑料。
ITT-CANNON公司新生产的这种VBS系列连接器，可以防水，并符合IP67标准要求，同时又具有防震动的功能，也有EMI/RFI保护功能。另外，VBS系列连接器还配备各种适应范围较广的线缆夹紧零件等。

Mass transit circular connector series from ITT Industries, Cannon reduces siring costs

A new range of circular connectors targeted at rail and mass transit applications from ITT Industries, Cannon reduces siring costs. VBN series connectors use a rigid insert, held in place using a retention clip, which makes it easier and quicker to insert and remove contacts, slashing wiring assembly time and hence cost.
More, because the inserts can be removed manually without using special tools, contacts are easily polarized or orientated guaranteeing flexibility. Also, as VBN series connectors employ a new mebrane grommet design, it is possible to use a wide range of cables without requiring realing plugs.
Available in 4 to 74 way configuration, VBN circular connectors feature robust aluminium alloy shells plated in Ecogreen or Ecoblack; contacts are copper alloy and the insulator retaining ring is heat treated bery llium copper. Isolation inserts are made from thermoplasic, and the grommet and interfacial gaskets are fabricated in flame retardant rubber.
The connectors are water proof to IP67 and have a high vibration resistance. EMI/RFI protection can be included, and devices come with a wide range of cable clamp accessories.
